Berquist has been engaged with the art of photography since early grade school. He started his photographic career in B&W using Pentax equipment and spending hours in a dark room at his junior high school. For the next 10 years he continued to study and experiment with light, composition and various formats. He worked with 35mm, various medium formats (120   2/1/4) and 8X10. By the time he was in his late teens he was also acting as a cinematographer shooting on 16mm and 35mm film. His work continued over the next 40 years and covered everything from commercial campaigns, to landscape, performance, digital and abstract art.
