A Transmedia Public Story Adventure
The CompleX Original IP developed by SQRLZ Inc.
Welcome new tenant! Enter your new apartment and enjoy the view to the inner courtyard and the inner world of your new home. Want to see what your neighbors are up to, simply pick up your binoculars from the window sill and look around. See something that intrigues you click on that window and you can watch a webisode of the lives of the tenants in that apartment. If you're shy, select the "Creep mode" and you will automatically be hiding securely behind the curtain while you watch. In our first series, it seems a body has turned up in the elevator, quite dead. If you check out the tenants' stories (episodes) you may gain a clue as to what is going on in your building. Check your mail for notices or someone might even tell you something while you are in the elevator. Oh, did we mention there is a strange little maintenance guy who always seems to be scurrying about and the superintendent is not exactly a model citizen. You can order pizza, get deliveries of many kinds and even leave messages for other tenants. Move in, get involved but be careful what you say or do, you may be the next victim or suspect. As it turns out we think there is a serial killer loose and people keep turning up dead. It's up to you and the other tenants to help the police sort this out.

The Mobile Murder Mystery platform.
As our audience members go online and enter their apartment complex, they enter their own private apartment, which includes a rear window that looks out over the complex interior courtyard and other apartment windows (inspired by Hitchcock’s “Rear Window”). Our audience is a voyeur and can pick up strategically supplied binoculars to look out into the courtyard and at the other apartments. Viewers can pick any apartment to enter and watch the dwellers story as it unfolds in a webisode style. All of the apartments are separate dramatic stories, including the events in an elevator, lobby and the maintenance man’s shop. All of these independent stories are connected in an overall story arc, one which eventually reveals a murder mystery. Dwellers in the complex soon learn there is a serial killer loose in the building and they may be next if they don’t solve the mystery. As you watch more and more of the stories, more details and clues are revealed. People move in and out, seemingly normal deliveries are made every day, even visits from the building staff happen randomly as you watch and dwell in your apartment. Audience members can use this mobile app to connect with other neighbors in the apartment to help unravel the story as well as add new evidence. Be careful what you see or say you could become a suspect yourself. Audiences experiences include the website, special news, remote camera viewing, letters and emails from police and landlords, social media platforms and local vendor opportunities (i.e.: coupons, sale items, clues) all as though they lived in the complex.

The WEBThe COMPLEX web site is more robust than the mobile viewing experience and includes extensive options like links to other tenants, blogs, vlogs, emails and vendor special items. This site will require particular IT techniques to accommodate viewers traveling about the building. Besides the links to interactive social media, it will also include retail sales of merchandising, products, events & experiences, subscriptions and much more.

SOCIAL MEDIAVideo Diaries/VBlogs of tenants and characters in the building
In these video diary/blogs, the characters share their back-stories, storyline, mystery, stakes, emotional motivation and desires. I.E., their fears, who they think the killer is, crazy emotional ramblings, the eccentric diary of the maintenance guy, building super, police reports, etc. All these elements will be available on the APP as clues to the story. The running time of each clip is 1 to 3 minutes. |
